As part of our continuing commitment to the SCOM Community we’re extremely excited to announce that we've released a brand new PowerShell Monitoring Management Pack to the Community.

Free PowerShell Management Pack

PowerShell and SCOM = the perfect match!

To us, SCOM is and always will be a platform.

Thanks to its Management Pack architecture, extensibility has always been at the heart of its power and potential. This unique architectural design opens up endless opportunities, not just in terms of what you can monitor, but also how you can monitor with SCOM.

One of the main frustrations with SCOM is the fact the console only supports VBScript - hardly cutting-edge technology, right? Everyone knows that PowerShell is the modern way and everyone knows it’s the language modern IT Pros are familiar with.

And as SCOM doesn't support it natively, we decided to do something about it!

The MP adds support for PowerShell everywhere that you’d expect to see it in the SCOM console’s authoring pane.

  • Bringing SCOM up to date with the latest best practice and technologies
  • Supports custom PS monitors, remediation tasks and data collection
  • No more VBScript. Bye bye 1998, hello 2017!
  • Completely free and open source

Release webinar replay

To mark the public availability of this new, free Management Pack we held an introductory webinar containing all the information you need to get up and running with the PowerShell Monitoring MP.

The webinar covers important tips on best practice when using the MP, dos and don'ts, as well as examples of useful scripts/use cases. We'd highly encourage you to check it out in tandem with downloading and installing the MP into your SCOM environment.

You can download the slides from the webinar here.
