The dust is finally starting to settle on an amazing TechEd Eurpoe 2014 for SquaredUp so we thought we’d try to find a few moments to write up our experience.
Above all, it was great to meet so many customers, partners and prospective customers in Barcelona and so a big thank you to everyone who stopped by our stand for a chat. For us, nothing beats getting to talk one-on-one with our clients and get their feedback on SquaredUp and their experiences with SCOM & SquaredUp. We also get a real kick out of people’s reactions to seeing SquaredUp for the first time so, to the gentleman who only let us show him two screens of the demo before saying "Stop. I’ve seen enough. I need this", an especially big thank you, that made our day.
However, the really big news for SquaredUp was the ringing endorsement that Microsoft gave us, starting with Daniel Savage’s talk on "Systems Center Operations Manager: Monitoring In A Modern World" in which he outlined the three key pillars of Microsoft’s monitoring strategy:
1. Uphold System Center Value
2. Modernize Through Cloud Solutions
3. Deepen Our Partner Ecosystem
"the partners we want to bet on for a particular scenario and who you should really consider as you think about how your Operations Manager environment plays out"
Speaking about SquaredUp specifically, he explained that:
"we’re leaning in with this partner to really solve those issues of getting modern, HTML5, fast, fluid visualisations from Ops Manager for your on-premise environment."
Clearly it means a huge amount to us to have Microsoft themselves so publically endorse SquaredUp and the work we’re doing and so this seems an appropriate moment to us to say thank you to all those customers, partners and champions in the technical community who have done so much to support us in getting to this point of our journey.
Watch the session in full on Channel 9:
The presentation also includes some great material on the new Azure Operational Insights platform. If you haven’t had a look at that already, you might want to check it out and we certainly spoke to a lot of customers who were very excited about the new power and possibilities of OpInsights.
Microsoft also gave us the opportunity to present in their own session on "Building Highly Effective Dashboards in System Center 2012 R2 Operations Manager" and that 15 minutes session is a great introduction to SquaredUp for anyone not already familiar with what we do.
Again, that’s available online on Channel 9:

(skip to 26 mins, 15 seconds if you want to get straight to the SquaredUp demo)
We also made a lot of new friends at Tech Ed, right across the community, and a lot of people that we’re very excited to have the opportunity to work with in the future (including Peter who, from what we can tell, appears to be the coolest guy in all of Denmark).
And, lastly, Barcelona: wow, what a city. We’ll definitely be coming back…
