SquaredUp’s MCP now supports full dashboard authoring from a simple prompt, and is Generally Available (GA).
The MCP server has been in private preview since late 2025, and customers have mostly used it to roll out workspaces, deploy dashboards and pull KPIs into reports. What it couldn't do well was build a good dashboard from a standing start, so for this release we've added dashboard and tile building and paired it with SmartViz.

Describe what you want, for example "Build me a dashboard showing Azure costs by subscription for the finance team", and your assistant works out where the data lives. It can see the workspaces, data sources and plugins you've connected to SquaredUp, and the objects in them, so it can find the right subscriptions, projects or services instead of guessing.
SmartViz then shapes the data and picks a visualization to suit it, from simple line charts to Sankey diagrams and bubble charts.
What you end up with is a real SquaredUp dashboard rather than a chart in a chat window. It has a link and stays current, so everyone works from the same picture. Anyone with access can click into a tile to see the source, objects and timeframe behind a number. Adam covered why that matters in I use Claude every day. I still build dashboards in SquaredUp.
Not every question needs a dashboard. If you have a stand-up in ten minutes, you can ask "Summarize my team’s in-progress tickets and open pull requests" and get a plain-English summary from live data, then have your assistant turn it into an update for the team. It works just as well for KPIs, checking who has access to what, or tidying up scheduled reports.
Your assistant signs in as you, so it only sees what you can see. There are no API keys to manage, and assistants ask before changing anything.
It works with Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, OpenAI Codex, Microsoft Copilot and Google’s Gemini & Antigravity products - plus any others that support the Model Context Protocol (MCP).

Alongside fetching data and building dashboards our MCP server supports over 67 tools, from inviting users to automating workspace creation - nearly anything you can do in the SquaredUp UI, you can now achieve with AI.
It only takes a few minutes to get started, and the docs walk through the setup for each assistant.
