Custom timeframes are here!

We understand that one-size-fits-all timeframes don’t always meet your needs.

Why we made this change

In the realm of data and observability, timing is everything. Until now, SquaredUp provided fixed time options like the last hour, 12 hours, 24 hours, last week, and this month. While these options served many users well, we recognized that they lacked the flexibility you needed.

Whether you're tracking long-term performance, comparing trends, or looking into specific events, we know these preset options could sometimes feel limiting.

What you told us

You expressed a desire for more control in your analysis, auditing, reporting, and troubleshooting. Here are some of your requests:

Your feedback was clear: flexibility is key.

Introducing custom timeframes: easy, user-friendly, and powerful

We are excited to introduce Custom Timeframes! This new feature puts you in command of your analysis period without added complexity.

At the bottom of your regular time selector, you will find the Custom option. Just click it, and you can easily set “from” and “to” times using straightforward expressions.

Here’s how you can use custom timeframes:

  1. Track a service’s performance over the last 15 days
    • From: Now minus 15 days
    • To: Now exactly

2. Analyze a specific event or spike from a set date

We’ve put together a quick video demo to show you how it works:

More choices, still easy to use

As the examples above show, Custom Timeframes give you full control—without making things complicated. Whether you're using relative time like “Now minus 15 days”, picking exact dates, or combining both, it’s all quick and intuitive.

We understand that having too many options can be a bit much. That’s why we’ve kept familiar presets like “Last 24 hours” and “This year” right where you expect them. We’ve just added more flexibility for those who need it, right where you need it.

Wrapping up

Custom timeframes are designed to provide the flexibility your work needs. Now, you can shape time to fit your perspective, whether you're exploring trends, comparing changes, or investigating patterns.

It's easy to use, seamlessly integrated, and powerful when you need it most.
