Scheduled Sharing in SquaredUp

Getting your dashboards in the right hands is vital for many teams. This typically means that someone has to remember to check them, and that rarely happens consistently. Stakeholders miss weekly updates, managers ask for reports that already exist, and your carefully-built dashboards sit unread while people wait for someone to send them a screenshot.

Setting up a scheduled delivery

Setting up a schedule takes just a few clicks from any dashboard. Hit the arrow next to the Share button, select Schedule, and you'll be walked through three simple tabs:

• On the Schedule tab, pick your frequency. This can mean sending snapshots Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or Yearly with configurable times for when you want deliveries to go out. There is a lot of flexibility here: you can send every weekday at 7 o’clock, on the first Monday of each month, or quarterly on the 1st of January, April, July, and October. Timezones are configurable too, so global teams can have reports land at the right local time.
• On the Destination tab, select where you want the dashboard sent. Each schedule supports one or multiple destinations, so you can hit a Slack channel and an email distribution list in the same delivery. If you need to add/edit destinations, you can do so in Settings > Notifications.
• On the Options tab, add a title, craft a message to give the delivery some context, and choose whether to render the snapshot in light or dark mode (because of course). If link sharing is enabled on the dashboard, recipients get a view-only link that doesn't require a SquaredUp license, which proves useful for stakeholders who need to see the data but do not need a full account.

Why use it?

Scheduled sharing works well anywhere you are currently sending data manually, or where stakeholders should be seeing updates but are not.

A daily delivery is good for operational teams who need a morning status check. This can mean a detailed look at infrastructure health, open incident counts, overnight alerts, and more. A weekly cadence suits DevOps teams reviewing pipeline performance, and daily reports help IT teams summarize endpoint/patch compliance. Monthly is the natural fit for SLO/SLI reports, cost summaries, or anything going to leadership. And for quarterly business reviews, just set Monthly with an interval of every 3 months.
