Shared dashboards now start at FREE

Since we added the Open Access feature to Dashboard Server way back in 2014, it has been a customer favourite. Build a dashboard, grab a special URL, and share it with anyone without getting into the costs and hassle of user management - useful for embedding in other tools, show it off it on a very visible wall monitor, or send to management for a monthly report. It's versatile, simple, and most importantly, affordable.

We introduced this feature early to our Cloud product in the Pro and Enterprise plans, but we’ve been getting clear feedback that lower plan users are looking for this flexibility too.

Today, we’re making shared dashboards available on all of our plans - including the Free plan.

Sharing for everyone

Free plan users get to try out sharing with one dashboard - perfect for that team dashboard, something you want to share around, or the dashboard for wall if you’re back in the office. Free plans also include 2 full users, who can create and edit dashboards and monitors, and drilldown into dashboards.

Starter plan users get sharing without limits - share as many dashboards to as many users as you want, with pay-for-what-you-use billing. Starter plans include 3 full users.

Pro and Enterprise plans continue to include sharing without limits. They also include the option to limit shared dashboards to users within a particular email domain.

Flexible, low-cost pricing

In the Starter plan and above, we measure shared usage with ‘data queries’. Each data query is request to SquaredUp for some data, this is typically one per tile each time it refreshes (we also use this measure for monitor evaluations and API queries).

This is an incredibly versatile and low cost way of scaling your dashboard viewing. A single dashboard view costs in the region of just $0.01. So 100 users viewing a dashboard once a month costs about $1 - yes, one dollar! That’s a fraction of the cost of other dashboard solutions, which require you to not a full user fee even for a quick dashboard view.

We want you to have the flexibility to share any dashboard with anyone – whether that's an occasional view or a 24x7 wall monitor. This sharing model gives you that flexibility.

Getting started with sharing

If you’re a customer on the existing Free and Starter tiers then please reach to our friendly support team to get your account upgraded.

Pro and Enterprise tier customers are unaffected. These tiers are still required for email domain authentication for shared dashboards.
